Finding Wisdom and Gaining Understanding

People may grasp the truth revealed by the Gospel, and after some time, they may revert to an old mindset. Many of us would like to have our dreams fulfilled, and, in many instances, this may not happen in our lifetime. If we wish to see our dreams fulfilled, then certain things would have to change within us. We may experience frustration and unfulfillment because we sometimes don’t understand what God wants, and we lose hope. We need to move into an illuminated place in Christ, as we need to know what to do and how to do it. Proverbs 1, the purpose of this is to know Wisdom and instruction, which will prevent us from regressing in our goals. Wisdom will lead to discernment, wise behaviour, knowledge, increased learning, and cause us to seek wise counsel. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and fools despise wisdom and instruction. If we have to accomplish what we have in our hearts for God, then we need the inner knowledge from the heart of God that will allow us to overcome the devil.

Proverbs are deliberately presented as riddles, so God’s people may unveil the mysteries, and others will not understand them. Matthew 13:1-10, the purpose of a parable is to hide the mysteries from those who have not been granted the privilege to know. Jesus says, ‘to whoever has, shall more be given …whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him’. These people have deliberately chosen to reject God’s Wisdom and knowledge. Hebrews 5:7- Christ learnt obedience from the things which He suffered…it is hard to explain since you have become dull of hearing” Paul refers to Christians who have not matured in their faith. We need Wisdom, knowledge and understanding in fear of God, Proverbs 2:1-11 – Cry out for discernment and seek her as for silver… Wisdom will enter our hearts, discernment, righteousness, equity and justice and we will know what to do in every situation. Let us cry out for Godly Wisdom, guard her for she will preserve our lives, and all of our ways will be established, including our dreams.
