Learning to Hate Evil

By Jim Durkin

This world system is so inundated with Satanic that it continually propagates Satanic ideas, teachings and doctrines. Scripture says that in the last days, men will give heed to seducing spirits and demons’ doctrines. This is a concerted plan for worldwide domination, and those who follow Satan’s principles are prisoners; it is God’s spirit that prevents this evil from being wholly realized. Satan also operates in the churches by implementing certain doctrines contrary to God’s Word, causing God’s people to employ traditions, thereby ‘making void the Word of God.’

God has given His church eternal life, encouraging us to prosper in good health as our souls prosper. John 10:10 says the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus comes to give life and give it more abundantly. Satan is a thief who wants to steal everything that Jesus Christ purchased for us at the cross of Calvary. He also wants to take away from the church and prevent the entire world from receiving Jesus’ promises.

When we are in Christ, God guards our spirits and watches over us. Otherwise, Satan would destroy us. God may allow us at times to walk into situations that Satan has designed, but with mercy, as God is faithful and will not allow us to be tempted above what we can endure. God cannot be tempted, neither can He tempt. It is the enemy who tempts. In Zachariah, 3:1-We see where Joshua, the high priest, is trying to serve God and Satan resists him. The Lord rebukes Satan, cleanses Joshua and gives him new clothes. Similarly, it is the truth that will set us free, and God will clothe us with new garments. The things that are of men and Satan are the same, but when men become men of God, they are set apart.

Jesus removed the sting and fear of death through his sacrifice, God gives, and the devil tries to take away, God creates, and the devil destroys. If Christians understand Satan’s true nature, then we can develop a hatred for him and his dirty works, e.g., disease and poverty. Ephesians 3:20 “…according to the power that works in us”, we are not going to receive the fullness of the blessing of God unless that power that works in us has free manifestation and free course. We are under attacked by all of the forces the enemy has at his disposal to stop us from receiving the blessings of God. His purpose is to fight us, our health, sanity, stability, unity, our children so they may become rebellious, our ability to love. God does not wish that we may suffer except that we suffer in ultimate victory. The Bible says that our God can do exceedingly above all we ask or think. Therefore we can resist the devil, and he will flee from us. God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and the power to heal all the oppressed of the devil. He tells us freely you have received, freely give, referring to salvation, which is the total deliverance for the soul, spirit and body.
