The Ultimate Satisfaction
By Jim Durkin
What satisfies the human heart? A man’s life does not consist of the things he possesses. While there is nothing wrong with owning things, this is not the primary element that makes up life because he could have as many items as possible and still feel empty inside. A man was created in the image and likeness of God, and when man fell, this image was marred. Since this loss, man has been searching for something to replace and fill the emptiness. There are sometimes those beautiful moments that last for just a moment. They are fleeting and are the only memories that we can recall. However, our hearts cry out for something much more.
The Holy Spirit, the comforter, will guide us into all truth, and he lives in the bodies of believers. To only know that we are saved and that His holy spirit lives in us is, after some time, not enough. God places in us a desire for Jesus to work through us. Through the divine presence of God, we become transformed and are then able to bless others through healing and deliverance. No man will ever be satisfied until that day comes as described in John, the eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man those things that God has prepared for those who love Him. The Holy Spirit will give us revelation, but our intellect interrupts, and these are just moments. The time will come when each person that believes in Jesus will be resurrected into a new body, we shall be like Him, for we will see Him as He is, and then we will be satisfied.
